Pacific Golder-Plover in non-breeding plumage. This species and the American Golden-Plover were formerly considered to be a single species. This species has more yellow in its plumage. Seattle Aquarium.
This plover breeds in western Alaska and across much of the Arctic tundra of Russia (west to Tiksi and the Lena River). |

There is also a Eurasian Golden Plover, Pluvialis apricaria, that ranges from Iceland and northern portions of the British Isles, east through Scandinavia east to about the Lena River. |
